Mansdone is a saxophone brand originating from the United States, with its story beginning in 1990 in New York City. During that vibrant and innovative era, a talented engineer and jazz musician named James Monson dreamed of creating a saxophone that could perfectly express the soul of jazz music. James was born into a musical family—his father was a renowned wind ensemble conductor, and his mother was a professional pianist. Growing up in a musical environment, James developed a profound love and understanding of the saxophone. However, during his performances, he often felt that the saxophones available on the market could not fully meet his musical expression needs. This inspired him to improve and innovate the saxophone.

In 1990, James began his journey of innovation in a small workshop in New York City. Combining his background as an engineer with his experience as a musician, James started designing unique saxophones. However, due to the ever-changing circumstances of the world, Mr. Monson's saxophones were never able to reach the global market as he had hoped.

In 2003, Mr. Hu visited the United States to assess the instrument market and met Mr. Monson, who introduced him to his saxophones. With his many years of experience in the instrument business and his knowledge of various major saxophone brands, Mr. Hu immediately recognized that Mr. Monson’s improved saxophones were exceptional. Monson had made groundbreaking improvements to both the inner and outer structures of the saxophone, making it easier to play with less air consumption, producing better sound quality, and allowing the player to express themselves freely. As a saxophone enthusiast and business operator, Mr. Hu felt that this kind of saxophone should be shared with more enthusiasts. Together with Mr. Monson, they co-founded the MANSDONE brand.

Taiwan, as an early pioneer in the instrument industry, has unique manufacturing techniques, and with Mr. Hu’s continuous efforts, Mansdone began production in Taiwan in 2006. During the production process, constant innovations were made, and once everything stabilized, the brand was registered in the United States. Initially, the brand operated through offline sales, with primary markets in several Asian countries, such as China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, and others.

As mainland China became the largest market, and with the development of the internet, the company adapted to the trend by launching online sales in mainland China in 2015. This decision proved to be correct, and thanks to the saxophone's excellent quality and sound, online sales grew rapidly, propelling Mansdone to a new level.

To make the beautiful, easy-to-play, and well-tuned Mansdone instruments accessible to more people, the company made a strategic decision in 2024 to begin global online sales.
