Maintenance of the Saxophone

10-05 2018

  1. After playing, be sure to carefully wipe the surface of the instrument. Otherwise, stains left for a long time may damage the surface paint.
  2. When wiping, ensure that needle springs, keys, cork, etc. are in their normal positions, and take care not to knock them off or alter their positions.
  3. The small tone holes of the high octave key are prone to blockage and should be cleaned regularly.
  4. Lubricate the bolt connections regularly to maintain smooth key operation. Be careful not to overuse lubricants or cleaning fluids, as residue may damage the surface paint and cause keys to operate less smoothly.
  5. The needle springs of the instrument are components with sharp ends and higher hardness. Please be careful not to scratch yourself while wiping.
  6. After wiping, place each component according to its designated slot position in the case and securely lock the clasp or zipper to prevent the instrument from falling. Store it securely.
  7. Do not place the saxophone in a damp or excessively dry environment, as this can cause deformation and damage to the pads, resulting in inaccurate pitches and poor performance. Image
